Melany Smith is an actress and dancer from Amsterdam. She got her BFA at Lucia Marthas institute for performing arts and starred in the Dutch TV show "Weemoedt’’. She studied under Susan Batson in New York where she performed in several off broadway productions (54 below).
In Los Angeles she studied at the Stella Adler Academy and John Kirby Studios. Melany has performed in many immersive theatre productions (Night Fever, Creep LA with Just Fix It productions) you can see her in the Freeform series Good Trouble. For her role in American Hero she got nominated for best outstanding actress at the Micheaux Film Festival and won best actress at the Chelsea Film Festival. Her latest theatrical credits; The sold out run of Mauritius by Theresa Rebeck, playing the lead “Jackie”. Directed by John Lacy at Theatre 68. And the original play Sunbreak that just competed in the Hudson Guild Theatre Festival in New York.
She recently was part as one of the leads in the play: Porn Rock; The Obscenity trial of Jello Biafra at the Eastwood performing arts center. Directed by Emmy award winning Jeremy Kagan.
